GENERAL DISCUSSION

A trip to Lisbon helps a nerdy guy, who is quickly approaching 30,to finally get his mojo back. Although partly set in Lisbon, this is essentially a Budapest movie that shows how it feels to be a young adult in Hungary’s capital. “For some inexplicable reason”, its real strength lies in its honesty. The film doesn’t feel like a big budget art movie. It rather makes one feel like roaming around the streets of his hometown with friends. Of course there are some odd details, which do not add up to a thorough story, but isn’t that how real life is?
What do you expect when you meet friends? Sometimes you laugh, sometimes you feel sad, sometimes you recall personal experiences (especially if you are twenty-something from CentralMEurope)… scenes and thoughts inspired by a film even days later. Watching this particular film may make you want to visit Budapest. Avoid it if your normal diet consists solely of Hollywood movies. How is life in Budapest, in 2015? Interested? Here you’ll find evidence coming from a 29-year old and his friends. Budapest individuals that could be any one of us. The main character, Aron is after
university, after a break-up and before the realization of what he’d really like to do in his life. While couple scenes are set in Lisbon, Portugal, the film is really about Budapest, featuring the city’s popular pubs, restaurants, known streets and
squares, night-life and thoughts of Hungarian 30 something males.
