Monastiraki Square bridges Athens’ long standing tradition with its multicultural present. In 2008, the square’s regeneration, realized with European funds, highlighted the Square as a crossroads of history and culture, past and present, and offered an open space to residents to enjoy and identify with. In May 2016, a group of students from the 2nd Experimental High School of Athens, decided to turn one of its favorite habits, Sunday walk in Monastiraki, into a quest. Within the context of the rejuvenated Square, they explored the city’s character and the way inhabitants are linked to it
