SUGGESTIONS FOR LESSONS
Lesson topic: The Peculiarity of Mr Blot’s Academy
Author: Jadwiga Mariolla Jonas
Educational level: primary school, 4th grade
Time: 45 minutes (plus film viewing)
Learning outcomes:
- Improving the skills in understanding culture-based creations such as films, comprehension of movie images (in this case: putting the events in chronological order, expressing one’s own opinions and justifying them on the basis of images);
- Igniting students’ imagination by intersemiotic translation (picture – word);
- Enriching the student’s vocabulary;
- Developing the ability of working in a group and group communication (here among others: work organisation, responsibility for the given task, negotiation, cooperation).
Work methods: mini lecture, questions and answers, “brain-storming”, mind map, appraisal and argumentation, intersemiotic translation (image – word)
